A new resource specialized in intellectual property and technology law in the Montreal office!

The Montreal office’s business law team has recently welcomed a new resource who has broad experience in intellectual property and technology law.

M^e Stéphanie Thurber, lawyer, develops strategies to protect copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs, trade secrets and domain names both in Canada and abroad. Her practice is focused on business and technology law, and the related transactions, which includes licensing, technology transfer, hosting agreements, service contracts, distribution contracts and agreements such as confidentiality and non-competition.

M^e Thurber uses her expertise in matters of technology, electronic and traditional business, protection of personal information and privacy, literary publishing, the cultural and entertainment industry, the manufacturing sector, product distribution and franchises.

Some of her important mandates to date have been the preparation of proceedings and the representations in a trade-mark dispute between bleach manufacturers before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal, the elaboration of conditions of use for products incorporating information technology (“IoT”) which compile physical performance information, the development of an IP protection strategy in more than 40 countries, giving counsel on the application of the Charter of the French language to foreign companies who wish to settle in Quebec, the performance of due diligence on IP portfolios and the protection of personal information in mergers and acquisitions and, finally, the drafting of collaboration agreements between private businesses and university research centers.
